And Joshua said to all the people,
Behold, this stone…has heard
all the sayings of Jehovah
which He has spoken with us.
Joshua 24:27

You have a purpose.  I have a purpose.  It might be unclear at the moment but we all have a reason for being alive–a destiny.  To everything there is an appointed time including this magazine!  The idea came as I was reading over the manuscripts for Perspectives. Three contributors submitted entries that pertained to biblical objects/animals:

* A Donkey…The Ass’s Mouth by Susan Phillips (Jan 2008)

* The Flooded earth…The Earth in Flood by Eva Schultz ( July 2007)

* A Stone…The Smooth Stone by Trista Fennell (Jan 2008)

So I thought it would be interesting to devote an exclusive magazine just for objects mentioned in the word of God.

In Christian Perspectives, biblical objects/animals describe their experiences with the Godhead, the heavenly realm and the natural world through short stories and poems.

You don’t have to be a minister or pastor to contribute to CP.  However, the content must be based on verses in the Christian bible (Genesis through Revelation).

The object theme for the premier issue relates to the opening verse: stones.

For your entry, choose any scripture referring to stones/rocks. Examples: reveal God through the eyes of

  • Exodus 31:18 – The tablets of stone on which the ten commandments were written.
  • Exodus 28:21 – The stone in the high priest’s breastplate.
  • 1 Samuel 17:49 – The stone that killed Goliath.
  • 1 Kings 6:7 – A stone in Solomon’s temple.
  • Matthew 28:2 – The stone the angels rolled away.
  • Luke 4:3 – The stone mentioned in the temptation of Jesus.
  • Luke 22:44 – The stone in Gethsemane that felt Jesus’ drops of blood.
  • John 8:7 – A stone held by one of the accusers ready to slay the adulterous woman.
  • John 11:41 – The stone that rolled away when Jesus called Lazarus to come forth.
